We lawyers would have to admit that many of us are not the easiest spouses (or, "significant others") to live with. Particularly, when we have had that "day from hell" at the office or in court.
A surprising article appeared in the Wall Street Journal on April 1, 2008 by Anita Raghavan. The author states that women lawyers are TWICE as likely to get divorced or separated then their male counterparts. This was a finding by Washington & Lee University School of Law Professor Robin Fretwell Wilson.
Using a National Science Foundation survey of more than 100,000 professionals, Professor Wilson, herself a divorcee', concluded that "for women, a professional degree is often hazardous to marital health."
We wonder what it is like when TWO (2) lawyers are married to (or, living with) each other. Particularly, when both have had a "day from hell" on the same day.
Talk about "spousal abuse" !
