Everyone hopes for a "good day." A day full of joy, happiness, laughter, etc., etc. Some people get those type of days, others don't.
A great deal depends on one's circumstances, environment and endeavors. Many lawyers, because of the type of law they practice, the clients they deal with, and the colleagues with whom they associate, have many "bad" days.
But, few "good days" occur by happenstance. Life is a series of "choices." This writer believes that, for the most part, one makes their own "good" or "bad" days.
Here are 25 suggestions that could help you make your own "good day:"
- Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
- Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Possibly meditate (don't medicate).
- Play more games and read more books.
- Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6. Appreciate their genuine nature, strength and innocence - - for real.
- Dream more while you are AWAKE.
- Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants, and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
- Drink green teaand plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan Salmon, broccoli, almonds and walnuts.
- Try to make at least three people smile each day.
- Clear clutter from your desk, your office, your house and your car.
- Realize that life is a school, and that you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away (like any class), but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
- Eat breakfast like a king/queen, lunch like a prince/princess, and dinner like a pauper.
- Smile and laugh more.
- Life is too short to waste time hating anyone or anything.
- Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
- Don't compare your life with others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
- No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
- Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this really matter?"
- However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
- Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
- Do the right thing!
- Call (or email) your family often.
- Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
- Believe that the best is yet to come.
- Don't take yourself too seriously.
- You only have one ride through life, so make the most of it - - enjoy the ride.
I like your list... I already do several of these every day, and will make a note of the others to try and incorporate those into my life. Thanks! :)
