I suppose this is correct, but after over two decades of doing this, what I think private (as opposed to industry or corporate) clients often want is:

1. To transfer their entire lives problems to the lawyer; and

2. To have the lawyer beat up their opponent.

A problem with this is that a lot of litigants really need a Priest or Rabbi, not a lawyer, and it's hard to keep them from thinking you (the lawyer) can solve all of their problems, no matter what they may be.
